150 CC bilge drains

As I've used the boat over the past year I'm really enjoying it. But the one issue bothering me a little bit still is the amount of water that gets into the bilge while sitting in the water for short time.

I believe it is coming in through the drain plug holes, and I have tried new plugs with new seals and still gets in. I think the plugs are not sealing that well.

So I've been thinking about getting a drill bit just large enough that I could remove only the molded in threads for the plugs, and then try using the old fashion rubber drain plugs that have the flip lever that expands the rubber and locks the plug into place.

Anyone see a problem doing this, or tried it with success? Any other thoughts?

Thank you
