Joe and the guys over at Carbon Marine in Tampa, do make some innovative and lightweight add on components for your Skiff. Here are a couple of examples that I am looking to incorporate onto the next one myself if possible

The Crail Forward casting deck that has several places to touch to help stabilize you in the chop while standing or setting for that matter!

The guys over at Carbon Marine have come up with a real cool new Push Pole that you can take apart. I have seen it in person on a recent trip there, and it offers some very unique advantages...
  • Just as rigid as a one piece pole for very little (ounces) in weight gain.
  • You can take it apart and store it in a bag off the Skiff when not in use, thus less chance of getting stolen from your Skiff.
  • No need to have one pole for most work, and then a separate longer (say 24 feet plus) for use when chasing Tarpon out on the Beach or Passes in deeper water. Just buy and screw on another roughly 4 foot section to your present pole for extra reach
Here are some video to help you visualize this one which will be my next Push Pole! ;)

And if you would like to upgrade / repair your present Push Pole here is another option using this same system that you may want to consider
