As you know with mine and most 190 rod holders being so low, they are not safe and I have been gigged / impaled more than once when walking past one my pre-rigged bait casters on a Rapala treble hook

So even after having dear old Mom make me some lure wraps (they kept getting hung up when taking them off) I did some research and I found another low budget product today called "Safety Caps" on this page

Putting them on though I have been stabbed  so I use them now, more for long term storage.

Recently I have been looking into this system below, and would like to hear if others have tried using them?

I also found another tackle management product from the same company that makes the "Bait Sack" as denoted on the 1st Thread called the Cali Clip.

And you can find this and all of their product line on this link: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Cal_Coast_Fishing/catpage-ABUG15N.html

Now for me, the exposed rod concerns are not as much of an issue on the Skiff now since it had under gunnel rod storage. But I still use lure covers on anything that has treble hooks :)

I also take the time no matter what is covering my lure or how the rod is rigged. To always wrap the line at least one time "around" the rod to help take up the slack. I can also by doing this quick simple step, then carry a hand full of rods to the Skiff and they will not get tangled up with each other. It also keeps the lure more secure and less chance of them falling off whatever hook holder you are using, while the boat is underway

Be safe, and a little time spent making sure that all things (not only just hooks or rods) are secure goes a long way!
