Marker Buoy

I broke down and bought a SureMarker buoy last year and really liked the ease of use but the detachable handle is the weak link. I lost mine trailering so I made a much better fitting and durable handle. All you need is a replacement handle for one of your reels, a 3/8" long body socket and a ss screw to go the length through the socket and out the center hole on the reel handle. I used a Penn 114H handle from Academy @$9 and a socket from HomeDepot @$3 and bolted away with a screw size that allowed a "nut" that fit closest to the inner diameter of the reel handle shaft hole. Then cranked down some lock washers to bite it all together plus a little LockTite.
The cheapo replacement handle from sureMarker is $10, this all metal, corrosion resistant handle that serves also as an emergency backup for the Senator was less than $15 and fits the buoy reel shaft better. It definitely cannot "blow" out of the boat and fitted with a lanyard will hold tight to your wrist.
