I am quite sure some here, have either re-powered or upgraded to one of these engines. Many may not know, they are Japan's oldest Outboard builder starting back in 1956 while still others, may remember them under the label of Nissan Marine.

Over the last few years, they have really come on strong in the Technical Polling skiff market with their 50 HP unit which is the lightest one (impressive) on the market. I have a good friend that has one, and loves it.

And they now have one painted white that helps match your hull (for the fashion minded boater) as well as help keep it running cooler in the Hot Florida sun

Also of interest is that their 4 stroke 60HP models and higher, are actually Honda engines ;)

So please feel free to share and exchange your experiences with others, now that we have a special section for them

Big fan of these Tough Skiffs (it's in my 10 ten list) and the looks of the light weight White Hatsu blends in real well with lighter painted (yes painted for the hull is Aluminum ) Sabine Skiff.
