But it did not seem to bother him that I was able to get that close, for he stayed there for round after round of the burst shots that I was taking

And as the winds picked up and shifted direction, he went from a slicked back head dress... To having them all pushed forward with the breeze as it reminded me of some long ago Plains Chief.

Great to see them around more frequently again, and they appear to be holding their own considering the water quality issues that we are dealing with.

This one is not my work and still trying to grab one in this part of flight myself. But an excellent shot of one seconds after "post grab" as this Osprey is reducing it's cargo load and helping it generate some more lift

If you have never seen this in real time, it is quite a feat of aerodynamics as the bird is shaking off water like a dog, while grabbing for both airspeed and altitude while not going into a complete stall!

Simply brilliant design by the Almighty, even down to the dark color eye patch feathers too help them see even better in the bright Sun :)

I am nowhere near this level in getting these kinds of shots just yet. And thinking I may need to switch over to video and carve out better ones. But an excellent video on Osprey's and even better action shots of these awesome raptors!
