Soooo no one on pond but myself. Mosquitoes were out inforse. My bug repellent fizzled out, as in lost its umph to spray, I was doooomed.
Deployed my decoys , found a good spot, come shoot time still quite, but could see birds coming in, I guess they just did not like my set up this year. Still early cant make out what species was flying in, based on my scouting i guessed REDHEADS. And I was right thick as fleas. Now it's a hour past shoot time, I'm tired of watching them swim out of reach, so I fired off a round. HOLLY CRAP BATMAN. The sky lit up with I can only assume hundred plus birds, boy was I excited. But be as it may, they still did not come to close, but I did manage 2 drake REDHEADS, as that is the limit. Hardest part of the day was dragging my hunting agua pad back to truck all up hill. NO dog this trip, as I have the smaller pod, but Chance will get his trip in soon.
