Tachometer is floating

The original Farina brand tach on my 2003 190 Bay is flaky this year. It is reading the incorrect RPM's, sometimes to high and sometimes too low. The needle just seems to float around of it's own accord like it is haunted or something. Any chance this is something that can be repaired or is it in need of replacement?

Has to be replaced. You might want to contact Faria, they have an excellent warranty and they might just give you a RMA to send them the Tach and then they will send you a new one possibly.

Mine started doing that last year on my 2007 195cc and usually if I flick the tack with my finger it will go back to the correct position. It is still very intermittent but if it keeps acting up I will likely replace it.
