Now don't and go buy that Yak just yet! Here is a Hybrid Paddle and Polling Skiff with the advantages of both, and well within the same price range of your typical fishing Yak. This so you can reach places and also fish where the Gators crawl and Ducks swim ;)

Well thought design for the truck in fisherman, or as another option to your main skiff for places (with stability and safety) others simply cannot reach. Slick setup and you can find out more about them here:

East Cape as you may have heard, is working on a Rotomolded version of the Skanu (Awesome) and many if not most of us here, all know the advantages of such

Nice shot to give you a size comparison with an EVO in the background :D

And it appears the Ram Lin now have the trailer specs for them ready...

And was just thinking how good of a platform this would be for stupid skinny water (no fins like a Yak or SUP) and not just Fishing, but for Outdoor / Wildlife Photography work with much less fear of all of your expensive camera / video gear getting wet (or worse) by having that freeboard. I just just picture my Tri Pod in place on that forward deck already!

One way to set up your trolling motor which would more than likely drag you around all day, like a Poodle would a rag doll ;)

Pretty impressive stability at the same time, since that is no small child there on the Bow!

Good Afternoon!
Kevin from East Cape / SKANU and I are working on the next Podcast, and the coverage is going to be of the SKANU product line :)

If you have anything you would like me to ask, please feel free to drop me PM here on the Site, and I will be most happy to add it my present list if I don't already have it.

Also, if you do not mind (some are shy and I understand such so let me know either way) I will be most happy to give you credit for the question while recording it

Thanks for the help and the ideas!
Dave

And Kevin and I are going to discuss this newer product aspect (Lids and Trays) further on a SKANU Podcast in the very near future... We just need to work out the logistics on recording it and increasing the sound quality at the same time

I was speaking to Kevin the other day on some planned Podcast recordings with the next on on the SKANU in the near future. And while talking about the SKANU he sent me over some Pre Production pictures of the up and coming rotomolded SKANU version :D

Couple of other items / options that are planned you might be excited to hear about!

  • And though I would like to see how well it actually works, the Rotomolded model is designed to be self bailing.
  • Both the rear poling pod and forward deck can facilitate a hatch cover. Kevin also advised that you can cut out some more area (more in that later) in the stern pod too increase that storage space. Personally, I would like to be able to store a small camera tripod, or maybe a extra rod inside and under the deck. We all know how Dave feels about exposed rigged rods and treble hooks that many times find "Me" more than the fish
  • Those some areas are planned have both a black brushed Seadek applied to help increase comfort, and hatches will have matching black nylon hinges attached. Both of those are excellent additions to the craft! And though in black, Seadek due to the material type used does not get hot ;)
  • They are also working with their trailer partner Ram-Lin on a custom trailer purpose built just for this craft. This using a drop type axle to make it eaiser to launch and recover, as well as present a lower surface area (less aerodynamic drag) for towing.
  • Also to help save on overall weight to the craft (about 30 pounds roughly) the thickness of the hull material has been decreased to 1/4 inch if I am not mistaken...? But to help restore structural rigidity and increase flotation, this as well as help reduce noise. Closed cell marine grade foam will be added back to the craft in key locations, much like how a Triumph Boat was built and see video link below which should be a familiar building process to many here for sure!

So as I secure more information and engineering specs on this awesome little craft I will post them as soon as possible. And if interested in ordering one you can do such on this link:

And do let them know the guys from Performance Outdoors.Net sent you if you reach out to them!
