Launched out of Miller boat launch around 7am, an hour after high tide. Tides were small, almost no wind, and water was like a lake. We were drifting dead anchovies on my kids line and live smelt on mine. Fished the area to the West side of hog island all the way up to the yellow weather buoy. Water depth ranged from 9ft to 28ft.
Fish count as follows:
Me- 1 large angel shark, 2 small halibut
Son- 1 large sand shark, 5 small halibut, 1 keeper halibut
NOTE: The halibut were all caught in about 10ft of water... dead anchovies out fished live smelt.
As the day went on the winds picked up. I wasn't seeing many people with fish, only a couple... so we were one of the lucky ones. We left at about 3pm

That is fantastic! Love seeing young men out there (unplugged) thumping some fish. And I can taste the Blackening seasoning on that puppy already :p

Give the young man a fist bump for me ;)

Great pictures and a happy young man there. Nice work!

Right on my backyard!
I've been doing well with the shakr halibut off paradise, but about only 1 in 10 is a keeper

Went to Pardise the weekend before with live anchovies and got 1 small striper. That day was a huge tide differential and the wind came in fast and made for a wet ride back.
