Trim tab operates by itself

Hello,
A friend of mine bought a Triumph 235 CC and is a wonderful boat. It has one problem where a trim tab operates by itself. You will be going along and the boat tilts all the way to one side. It is pretty scary when that happens and he will slow down real fast. When he starts up it will be o.k. for a while and then will do it again. The buttons are definitely not being pushed. Has anyone out there had a similar problem? Thanks for your help.

Can you say the word "short". Search the switches and the solenoid connections.....you will find it. Something (wires) touching or corrosion. Could possibly be a stuck solenoid making erratic contact. Tap on the solenoid.
