This year for the first time ever we started having trouble with our Suzuki. It would idle fine for about 5 minutes and then starve for fuel and die. Oddly, WOT didn't seem to be an issue at all. Once on plane - you could run all day. Anyway, after tons and tons of suggestions, a new elect fuel pump and a rebuilt mechanical fuel pump, New Fuel Pressure Regulator, new filter, bulb and numerous inspections and cleanings........ it turned out to be a non return fitting in the main fuel line. It was almost but not quite inoperable due to corrosion. Hope this helps someone in the future.

As a fellow Suzuki owner, thank you very much! We hate to throw parts at problems seeking a solution, but sometimes, that seems to be the only thing to do. Glad you found the problem and got it fixed.

X3. Just to clarify, is that what you are calling the little spring backed ball valve in the elbow that comes out of the fuel tank? The valve that works as an anti-backflow preventer.

If I am correct, then I had similar troubles two years ago and the culprit was the ball spring valve that had corroded due to contaminated fuel.
