Always wear your kill switch!

Found the back story on the accident online from NOLA dot com...

"Two University of Florida students are lucky to be alive after being ejected from their bass boat during an FLW College Fishing tournament on Lake Seminole this weekend. A GoPro camera mounted on the boat's aft-side leaning post captured video of the accident and aftermath.

Hunter Bland and Conner Young were cruising at 60 mph, heading to their first stop soon after blast-off, when a locknut came loose on the boat's hydraulic steering, rendering the steering wheel useless and kicking the outboard to one side. Both anglers were thrown violently into the water over the port gunwale.

FLW tournament rules require all participants to wear life jackets and employ kill switches. In the video, the boat's engine shuts off immediately, and the men can be heard checking on each other. They swim back to the boat, and climb in near the transom. Several boats can be seen on the video blazing by the accident scene. One finally stops to render assistance."

Lucky reminder to check those steering connection points from time to time for sure ;)
