Hello everyone,
My wife let me buy something else for the boat so I bought an inexpensive Hummingbird depth/fish finder. Is the stern mount the best placement, or did the factory design a spot for a hull placement? Unless there is a hull placement, I am planning on mounting a 2.5 inch wide vinyl piece to the transom to attach the transducer to. I can through bolt it above the water line to give it a snug fit. Any better suggestions?

The stern is the only place to install the transducer. Triumph never made a spot for through hull mounts.

I used the supplied screws with Rule sealant and mounted on the Port/stern side. Most people will suggest Starboard/stern side because of supposed turbulence from the prop. I have never had a problem, but, you may want to follow the Starboard/stern people. The only reason I mounted on the Port/stern side is because I could not find a flat spot on the stern.
Sorry, forgot to rotate photo. Rotate head instead.

I checked with the factory on this for you and here was their reply:
Most depth finder/fish finder combos come with a high speed transducer
that mounts to the transom. Follow the manufacturers directions on
placement in order to get a good reading at any speed. Be sure to bed
the bracket and screws with Sudbury elastomeric sealant.

Jamestown Distributors, Hamilton marine, fisheries supply, Hannays carry
it and have online stores. Defender Industries has Sudbury as well.
