Could anyone suggest a reliable source for purchasing a replacement boat trailer for my 2005 Triumph 170CC ?

I've tried ordering a replacement EZLoader aluminum trailer through a local EZLoader distributor, but I'm not having any success with that..

I'm willing to drive a good ways if I can just find a distributor who will sell me a replacement trailer with the right bunk layout. It doesn't have
to be an EZLoader

Alternatively, might anybody on this list know where I might find a used/good condition 170CC trailer?

Thanks,

Hi Paul,
Unless an aluminum I beam trailer as a base for rebuilding (new axle, new bunks and hardware replacement then) I would not even consider going the used route... Saltwater is simply going to finish eating it alive before you would even get back your ROI and suspect in the long run, would cost you more than a new unit.

Next is the plans for this boat?
  • If short term / flip then I would consider a lower cost unit just to get it sold.
  • If long term and you want less hassle spending more money on a higher quality unit is then logical. So couple of things.... Nothing worse then dealing with trailer issues trying to get one to the ramp! Cutting cost and not being able to even use the boat is maddening with the little time most of us have free to even go fishing...
  • Taking simple care of the unit will pay greatly and nothing better have I found than this simple tip here:

  1. We have the bunk placement measurements for all the Triumph trailers in the Resources section you see above, but here is the direct link for yours: https://www.performanceoutdoors.net/resources/triumph-170-trailer-schematic.2/

2. This thread at the bottom has the links for some of the more quality trailer builders:

You can reach out to them, tell them your needs, send them a copy of the needed bunk placement and see what one would run? Might (at least with Ram-Lin) save a few dollars in one by getting one of their "Poly coated frame units" over I Beam that some say... Will look the same 10 years later.

Hope this helps?

Hi Dave,

I really appreciate your taking the time to respond to my post, and I found the comments and links you provided to be very helpful.

I run my 170CC primarily in salt water, and I know what you mean about salt water "eating a trailer alive."

I'm going to take your advice about contacting several quality trailer manufacturers to see if they can accommodate me with an aluminum trailer with the 170cc bunk layout; The links you provided should help me to keep my next trailer in good condition for years to come.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours,
Paul
