I'm going to try using a lead core trolling rig for inland stripers.
Approx 150 yds 20lb test over a mono backing. What is the sink rate?
Is it 2 feet per color change ie 10 feet........thanks ,Steve

Steve, I am familiar with only sinking flyfishing lines and most of them are tagged on the box and by color. My other question would be, why use led core for trolling? I have used trolling sinkers, downriggers and planars as well as large lipped trolling crankbaits. Have also considered trolling wire which is long lasting and works great offshore.
I have not heard of lead core trolling mono being used so let us know more about it, might be something to try out sometime.

Molar Boater, the actual line is a braid with the lead core.
I saw it being used on lake Murray which is in Columbia SC.
There also was a guy at the local Bass Pro who used it but
have not seen him lately. It comes down to less terminal tackle
and controlled sink for a finicky bite. Especially usefull if your
lure or bait is light.

lead core usually sinks 4 to 5 feet per color (10 yards). This will depend on trolling speed.
