My gps has been a problem ever since I bought the boat used. My puck antenna is mounted on the flat portion between the helm and instrument compartment. The GPS will often display "lost position" with a blinking question mark on the map. It has worked fine in the past but for some reason it is becoming more frequent. I'm thinking its mounted in the wrong place or there may be interference with my satellite puck antenna that is mounted next to the GPS puck. Any suggestions?

You shouldn't have a problem with it. My Garmin has the internal antenna and is flush mounted inside the console and never loses the signal. However, some units are more sensitive than others. I would re-mount the puck away from the other one with an un-obstructed view of the sky just to be sure. See if that solves your problems, if it doesn't then you may have either an antenna (puck) or cable problem. Make sure you check your connections for corrosion first before you do anything:D
