Rewiring a 2001 170CC

None of my electrical is working (lights, aerator, bilge). Since it’s all original figure best to replace everything. What gauge wiring do I need for these items? What switches do people recommend?

I'm currently rewiring my 215 at the moment. I went to newwiremarine.com and got me a bunch of new contura II style switches (carling). They will directly replace the switches that come in our boats. They have the breakers as well. I got all new covers and it looks pretty great thus far.

However, because so much of your wiring isn't working, I would seek out and investigate it first. Make sure the wires have connection and aren't corroded. Grounds need to be inspected as well. If you can multimeter test the switches, it may not be the switches you actually need.

Definitely! I'm in the process right now and, while it's a LOT of work, it's extremely rewarding when you're "done"

Don't use anything smaller gage than the original wiring.
