Saw a few halibut being caught today and even a nice size striper. Lots of anchovies in the bay so I busted out the Sabiki jig and was able to fill the livewell with about 4-5 dozen of em. I tried trolling a cured anchovies behind a dodger with no luck, so I switched over to drifting live anchovies... total fish count:
2 keeper halibut (largest was 14.5 lbs)
2 shaker halibut
1 stingray
1 thresher shark
1 mystery that started ripping line off my spool so quickly when I tried to apply thumb pressure it burned my thumb it was going so fast. That's exactly how the thresher shark bit, so maybe it was another shark?
