florida scalloping

Anybody ever do any scalloping on the florida west coast? I am looking for idea of where to go,launch,areas to look for scallops,etc.I know most is done north of pasco county in the gulf,but I don't know where the ramps are,what cities to get a hotel in and such. I did it as a kid off of tarpon springs and now I would like to show my 8 year old how much fun it is. I understand most of the good spots are in the big bend area. Any help appreciated.

Its been a few years but there used to good scalloping in St Joesph bay. there is camping, cotages and a good boat ramp in ST. Joseph Penesula State Park. Scalopping is closed West of the Mexico Beach Canal. Check with area tackle shopps for details and th latest info
