How to trailer at highway speed with Bimini Top

Hello,

I have a 2008 190 Bay. It has the factory bimini top. I typically use the boat locally so I never have to pull it over 35 mph. I may need to go on a trip, but I am trying to figure out how to trailer this boat with the bimini top. It is not made for laying down flat it seems. The bimini rails want to contact the side grab rails and rub if I attempt to low it completely down. Over the distance of a trip and bumping on the road I'm sure both rails will get some amount of damage. Has anyone else solved this problem other than just removing the top?

If the rails are held up with tubing instead of strap, You can swing the front & middle bows to the rear bow and leave it standing. just wrap the canvas around all the bows at the rear.

I second what Push Pull says, I would also wrap the canvas with stretch wrap. You can even use Saran Wrap.
I made some rear supports that slide into the rear rod holders out of PVC pipe and fittings to support it and keep it off of the tilted outboard.
