It might be worth sending Capt. Bill a Start a New Conversation request (Inbox above then click on Start a New Conversation) to ask if has any suggestions on what might have caused that damage and what that pipe is.
As you can see Bill cut into the back of his boat quite a bit for this major transom modification.
