Hello All,

I recently purchased this boat. Learning about the quirks and pros about this things. Curious what everyone's general opinions are, things to watch out for/check?

I am about to explore the forms for this, but if anyone feels inclined to answer here this here:

Overall, the boat appears to be in relatively good condition. I'm trying to find some schematics for the hull, I found a 2002 "Triumph" manual but it doesn't show hull design. Curious where water flows as I know this is a "wet deck" design. I think some water is getting trapped. Previous owner sealed up what looks like a later added on garboard plug (maybe he installed this?)

Welcome aboard! There are trailer bunk schematics and a 2009 Generic Triumph Owners Manual in the Resources section. There are also some photos in the media section that show cutaways of the hull and I think there is at least one that had the deck pulled up so you can see the moulding layout. What year model is it?

This is a 2001 Logic 210 - I did end up finding most of the schematics and manuals on this site, very helpful!

The primary issue I'm trying to tackle right now is potential water in between the hull and deck which I'm finding out is fairly common. My big question is should i install two garboard plugs (one on either side of the keel) for drainage and seal up the center hole? The cutaway looks like this plug is installed right into the foam. This is a rubber plug, and I'm fairly sure the water coming out is also getting in through this plug as it leaks so my thought it let this dry out and then seal up. Install two two garboard plugs after the fact. Is this a bad idea?

I have a 210 that the previous owner installed the 2 Garboard plugs in - following the Advice of Carl at Merritt marine. I get a little water dripping out after pulling the plugs when I have spent a day running it, but never more than maybe 1/2 pint from each hole, I'd estimate. I leave the plugs out when storing the boat on a trailer or boat lift, I never leaver it in the water. With a 150 2 stroke Yamaha the boat jumps right up on plane with plenty of authority. I'm very pleased. This is also my 3rd Logic/Triumph, having purchased the first one in 2000 (a 15CC, 17 CC and the 210, if that tells you anything about how much I like them.

If it were me, I'd seal up the center hole and install the 2 garboard plugs.
 
Welcome to Logic/Triumph boat ownership. You will learn to love your boat as the positives, for me, outweigh the few negatives. I bought my boat new in 2004. It did not have a garboard/drain installed on the transom. I have subsequently installed the 2 drains, right and left of the center line. These drains have been dubbed "Inner hull drains" by those on this site. That is because these boats truly have two "hulls". The outer which you see and is contact with the water body you are floating on and the "Inner" which you see when you remove the deck plates. This inner hull is the visible bilge. There is generally speaking foam of varying density injected between these two hulls for rigidity and flotation.

Your photo of your transom shows the drain installed centerline. This drain cannot be opened up between the hulls as there is a Stainless Steel "stiffener keel inside the center line and covered, for the most part by the roplene and elastomeric sealant. Hence the need to have the two drains on either side of that center line. There are several threads that cover these installations and the evolution of their engineering. Use "Inner hull drains" as your search title.

To convert your drains from one to two the difficulty will be sealing the old hole. The transom is not perfectly flat and will require some roplene welding I am sure. Be sure to use only the elastomeric product for sealing. The "Sudbury" product is best I believe. It is available on Amazon.

Don't give up. These boats art built like tanks and will last you a lifetime.
