My tilt motor isn't working and I need to learn to use the alternative manual method for tilting the motor. There is a drawing in the owners manual of the "manual valve screw," but it's not the best diagram. Can someone describe where I'll find this screw?

Is manually tilting the motor safe?

"Much" safer to correct the issue with the hydraulic tilt system. That is a lot of raw grunt (force) to try and man handle unless you are manually tilting it up one time to make repairs the hydraulic system ;)

I almost bet it is a simple tilt motor outage or a wiring connection running to the tilt motor under the engine that is giving you the problem.

Thanks Putershark.

My tilt motor isn't working because I stupidly put the battery in backwards. When I put it in the right way, the tilt motor wouldn't work. I haven't figured out yet what damage I did or how to fix it, but I'm in the situtation where I'm probably going to have to manually tilt the engine. Got an idea what I did and the correction? I'm leaning toward looking for a fuse.
