Hi, My Name is Dave and I just purchased a 2008 195 DC. Any tips on this craft from anyone would be appreciated. Looking forward to all the interesting topics

Welcome aboard! Glad you've joined us! There are almost 19 years of information on Triumph/Logic Boats available in the Triumph Boat owner’s forums located here: https://www.performanceoutdoors.net/forums/triumph-boat-forums.132/

I highly recommend starting with using the search tool found in the Upper Right Corner of any page, to make simple keyword searches for subjects and topics of interest to you. There is a lot of information here and quite sure it has been discussed before. ;)

Welcome aboard, Dave. Start with the 191/195 sub forum. Click on the "FORUMS" drop down above (not the little down arrow, but on the word "FORUM") drop down to the Boat Owners Forum and click on the sub-forum. You'll see the Triumph 191&195 sub-forum. That's your best place to start. Lots of things going on there, and that's where you'll post any problems or questions about your boat.

Does anyone have a speed estimate for a 2008 195DC with a F150 Yamaha. Trying to determine if I have innerhull water.

Hi Dave. I think you should be able to get up to at least 40 without too much trouble. I've had my 195CC (Suzuki DF150) with a T-top, 2 aboard, with almost full 60 gallon fuel load up to around 40 by the GPS speedo. I should have a little more wind drag than your DC. A lot of factors to consider though, if you aren't getting the speed you think you should. I can almost guarantee your motor is mounted lower than it should be. If I recall, your WOT on the YAmmy should be around 6200RPM. Proper motor height and prop selection both have a big effect on performance.

Put her in for the first voyage of the season yesterday. She got up to close to 40 trimmed out. For some reason the GPS speed shows a slower speed than the Yamaha speedometer

Well, for one thing the speedo on your motor is water speed, affected by current in the water, and just as airspeed in a plane is different than its groundspeed, your groundspeed, indicated by the GPS, will often be different than your speed through a moving column of water. Against the current you'll show a higher speed on the speedo because it gets its information from water pressure on the pitot tube at the leading edge of your motor's lower unit. in which case your GPS will show a slower speed over the ground. The very small orifice on the pitot tube also makes your speedo subject to errors caused by clogging with bits of sand, seaweed, etc.

I recently went out on the water and stopped at the sandbar. When my wife opened the forward compartment there was a couple of inches of water in the bilge. I'm assuming that the seal on the plug plate has developed a leak. Has anyone else had this problem. when it's on the trailer I see some seepage here.

Either that or rainwater if you've had any recent heavy rains. Check the rubber o-ring on the garboard plug for a tear, or other damage. You can match it with a new o-ring at any decent hardware store. If the leakage occurs between the drain flange and the transom itself, remove the two screws and pry the flange off, clean of all the old sealant from the boat and the drain. You'll need to seal it when you reinstall, and the only thing that works reliably on Roplene is Rule elastomeric sealant, available here in clear or white.
