i keep reading in the evinrude book that you should disconnect the speedometer pick up and blow the water out with 25# pressure, this 150E-tec is connected to a 195cc triumph, does anyone know what they are talking about

The speedometer pick up tube should run to your console and the back of your speedometer. When you are running your boat water is forced up the pickup tube to the back of the speedometer which forces the needle to show your speed.I don't know if they mean to disconnect the tube at the speedometer and blow back through it or not. That would be my assumption.Maybe someone else knows more.Good luck.

I think common sense would say John is right. No water in the tube ,No ice , no problems

The tube

There is a tube (looks like a vaccum line) attached to the spedo. There may be a zip-tie holding it on. Cut the zip-tie and pull the tube out of the back of the spedo.

Blow a little compressed air through the line and that will force any water in the tube out.

Re-attach the tube and zip-tie. You're done until next year.
