North Carolina fishing 8/19-820-2011

My suggestions are unless you are super sure of your seamanship stay inside Oregon Inlet it is a bear even on a calm day. If you wish to chance it follow charter-boats out for the first time. On the north side of the inlet in the eddy water. Just inside the inlet, against the point, in close to the beach is good flounder spot drift fish if possible parallel to beach. Let engine idle in neutral and bump troll, stay out of the rip. All of the bait shops will lead you in the right direction Head boats out of Pirates Cove fish inside mostly two trips per day. There is a state ramp (1st class) under the bridge on the road to Manteo The head boats go where the fish are. If you can get a chart ( bait shop) there is a deep hole called Davis Slough inside that is always productive. (Bottom fishing). Another word of caution follow markers & or mud stakes if not you will be aground.
